(erm... this one, I think. Sorry about my absense. ^^)
Nebel's gaze quickly returned to the stranger, as he resumed his study. Once more a skeptical look entered his eyes, as he caught the male's actions. Seeing his ears sweep back, Nebel's lip lifted up a touch in discust. And although the tip of his fang was only barely showing, it was highlighted by the male's coal-black lips. But before long Nebel concealed his teeth once more, knowing that it wasn't the proper behavior to display in such a delicate situation. Looking up, he focused on the alpha's words, his ears pulled forward. Nodding his head to indicate to her that he had heard, Nebel watched her last movements.
The male then muttered something under his breath, and abruptly plopped down on the grass. Propping his body in a confortable position, Nebel laid his head on his folded paws and uttered a soft sigh. Acting as though this was all one needed for a good night's sleep, Nebel flicked his tail to the stranger, indicating that he should do the same.

[ooc]That's fine. I'll be away for a little bit, too. Going to my mom's house for the weekend, and she has no internets. Sorry ;.; He hoped that she would change her mind and turn around, but he knew that was not even a possibility. Once the alpha was completely out of view, the final tip of her tail swept out of sight, he pushed it all out of his mind and faced the stranger.
Nebel his name was. He noticed the look he had given him earlier, when Frexpar had shown his disliking for the situation, and found the act laughable at best. Already the other male was going to try and establish a form of dominance and judge him. Frexpar realized that this was only natural, and he of course had right to jump to conclusions, but it only illustrated a more primitive mind.
As Nebel muttered to himself, finding a nice place to fall asleep, Frexpar slowly paced around, sizing the other up. He staled slowly, not quite threataningly but also not entirely respectful, and stopped when he made a full circle.
"Well Nebel." He said, a quark, "You've been around, haven't you?" Frexpar ran a smooth tongue over his muzzle, standing just out of reach of the other's jaws.

Nebel's pelt prickled with irritation as Frexpar moved about. Not saying anything quite yet, he remained in a relaxed position, his eyelids drifting slowly downward. However, the constant shuffling of Frexpar's paws kept Nebel fully awake. Focusing on the fading scent of the alpha female, Nebel was eventually able to block out Frexpar's very presence. Now fully calmed, the male allowed himself to grow drowsy. Nebel's eyes were now fully closed, the scent and sounds of the outside world slowly fading away...
Hearing the stranger's voice, Nebel was quickly jolted awake. Growling softly in annoyance, Nebel was forced to look in Frexpar's direction. Catching sight of him, Nebel studied Frexpar for a short moment. He didn't seem entirely comfortable, which was something that Nebel was used to. But that didn't mean he liked it any more. Ignoring Frexpar's earlier question, Nebel said, "You know, I'm not planning on chopping your blocks off." It was a little sour, but not entirely. After all, Nebel didn't want to scare the little wolf. Sighing, he continued, "I lost my eye to the humans; not to another wolf." It still hurt Nebel a bit to think about it. The experience had scarred him a bit.
Nebel remained silent for a moment, though it seemed that there was still something on his mind. Sure enough, he soon spoke again. "I don't entirely enjoy company, but for some reason I've always found myself stuck in a pack." Glancing at Frexpar, Nebel took on a humorously harsh tone. "So you don't get all scared o' me, for as you know, I'm not as smart as you are." Nebel thought vaguely of making a friend for a moment, but that soon dissipated as he wondered how he could think of such a thing. In truth, Nebel probably was so cold because he had no-one to lean on. No mate, no friends, no family. Simple as that.

He wasn't planning one chopping his blocks off, but Frexpar was not going to give him the benefit of the doubt. It wasn't practical, but even o the tiny wolf relaxed a bit. He remained standing, however, but he let the tension slowly creep from his ever strained muscles. They would get no where fast if Frexpar continued to act the way he was currently, and progression was a thing Frexpar hearted.
He looked again at the eye, an ugly scar that made his tummy clench, but made no hint that it bothered him. He figured doing so would be considered rude, and it was hard enough to get the other to speak as it was, without insulting him with a wince. Frexpar thought himself very clever, to be spared from nothing more then a little less food and a load f terror at the humans' invasion. But then why was he here, if he was so clever.
Bah. Coward.
Frexpar nodded at the comment of pack life. It was kinda bothersome, but he knew what the strength behind a pack could do. "I'm not quite taken to it myself, really." He said, creeping forward a bit. Even so, he couldn't help but be drawn to the companionship it promised. A pack mind is soft, not always willing to accept, but powerful. Oh so powerful.
Then the remark about intelligence. He caught the sarcasm, and raised his lip a bit in distaste, trying not to shoot back with an equally chilly response. "And what do you mean by saying that?"

Noticing that Frexpar had started to relax, Nebel did also. He felt a bit better to get those things off his chest, but he wasn't exactly planning on saying anything more. Hearing Frexpar's first comment, Nebel cast a surprised glance at the male. Really? He asked himself, though he didn't quite say it aloud. Feeling less alone now, Nebel found himself more comfortable with Frexpar's presence.
Gazing at the wolf with mild interest, Nebel quietly watched him move closer. Remaining calm, with every muscle relaxed, Nebel continued to show Frexpar that he was no threat. Then came his last comment.
A chortle of humor escaped Nebel's muzzle, his eye gleaming gleefully as he spoke again. "Actually, I was being serious about that. You seemed to be rather clever, compared to a dunce like me." Finding Frexpar's offense rather comical, a smile was spread widely across Nebel's hazy white face.

"Well, it is much too early to determine that." Frexpar said to the last statement, appeased. Nothing was terribly obvious this early in the meeting, but he was greatly pleased by the comment on cleverness. "We are both survivors in our different ways, at any rate." This as a remark on the other's strength. Brawn was favored to brains in such a world as this. Where brains could find you the occasional hiding spot and a scrap, brute strength could get you protection and food.
Aw wells. Given the option, Frexpar would never trade smarts for muscles.
The little wolf fell into a full relaxed posture. He did not think he was in any danger, not from this one, and why waste what energy he had on preparing to run? He cast the other a look, unreadable except for a small hint of concern. "So, Nebel. Now what?"

Frexpar's words didn't seem to have any significance to Nebel, who remained silent the entire time. He gazed unblinkingly forward, watching the swaying of the grass before him. Soothed by the faint whispers, Nebel's eyelids drooped with drowsiness. Drowning the rest of Frexpar's voice out, Nebel was able to near sleep once more.
Suddenly a flash of light caught Nebel's attention, and he quickly jerked up his head to see what had happened. Looking up, he was able to catch a glimpse of a crooked spike of lightning, trailing down toward earth. Then it vanished into the grey clouds, followed by the loud crackling of thunder. A storm. Nebel raised his gaze up to the clouds, as a cold, hard raindrop landed upon his nose. The fresh, sweet scent of rain hung in his nares. Nebel just then caught Frexpar's last words, though no answer came. The wolf was just to fascinated with the rain to pay attention to anything else. Storms were one of Nebel's weaknesses; he just found them somehow enjoyable. Taking in large gulps of the wonderfully moist air, Nebel felt several more drops land on his pelt.
Finally, Nebel dragged his gaze away from the oncoming storm to glance at Frexpar. Nebel had found this little wolf very interesting, for he thought differently than many. So Nebel waited for another one of his comments, as he curiously wondered what Frexpar's outlook on the rain would be.

Frexpar sighed as the other ignored him once again, falling into a semi-sleep rather then answer his question. The little wolf sighed, and pondered if he should just leave him there and find his own way. The alpha only suggested that they stay together. He wondered if Nebel would be insulted if his companion just left, but he very much doubted it. Frexpar laid his ears back, watching the other try to sleep, then turned to go.
A flash lit up the skies, and the pulse set Frexpar's fur on end from the charge and fear, and the little wolf quickly turned back to Nebel. Quickly there after a loud crack filled his body, sending Frexpar three feet in the air in surprise. Muscles still and ready to run, the wolf looked up into the sky. A fat raindrop splashed over his forehead, and he closed his eyes to avoid getting water in his eyes. It was only a storm. Fur still on end, and ears ringing, Frexpar looked at groggy Nebel who seemed to be enjoying this. Frexpar imagined he could hear the turmoil within the clouds, currents raging against each other and winds pushing against rain. It hurt his ears, and his fur did not lay flat. He was frightened of no storm, but you could have fooled anybody by the way he was standing. More raindrops fell onto his pelt, and Frexpar shivered.
Nebel was giving him a questioning look, and Frexpar returned it with a glare. Not at Nedel, but at their luck. Frexpar didn't like to be wet unnecessarily. He didn't notice the fresh smell or the promise of a sunnier day.

Nebel was barely able to stifle the burst of laugher that arose in his throat, at the sight of Frexpar's magnificent leap."Do it again." Nebel urged, almost giggling in his glee. That sure was something. he thought, rather amused by the wolf's fearful act. Another snap filled the air, and Nebel's ears quickly jerked backward. Distracted, the male looked up, his single eye taking in the twisting clouds.
Just then Nebel tensed, his body growing rigid as a large multitude of water was splashed directly upon it. Now a disgusted look replaced the former one, as water dripped quickly from his soaked fur. Nebel's pelt clung tightly to his skin, making him appear much thinner than before. "Ugh..." He spat grumpily, as water seeped into his nose and found a way into his ears. It streamed down his face, and fogged his vision. Nebel cringed as rain continued to pour down, making it impossible to keep dry.
"Great!" Nebel grumbled sarcastically, as he hauled himself up. The male quickly braced himself, then violently shook his body, forcing much of the access water out of his drenched fur. As the small droplets landed, it suddenly occurred to Nebel that he might have gotten Frexpar wet. "Oh. Sorreh." he said sheepishly, squinting his eyes to avoid the water.
